Assistant Producer & Researcher positions

Full time, 4 week (minimum) contract to start immediately


We require outstanding Assistant Producers and Researchers for our interactive projects. A proven expertise in of e-learning and education research is an advantage.

This role requires a hard-working and proactive candidate who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You will be involved in supporting the producer in a range of tasks including research into educational software and policy, and identifying opportunities for interactive development propositions. You will also organise and attend meetings and support a busy team in a range of tasks.

You should be highly organised, flexible and able to work to tight deadlines. You should have good literacy skills and an excellent attention to detail.

Rates dependent on experience.

Producer

The Role:

Within Illumina a Producer is responsible for devising and delivering a project's User Experience. This includes developing the creative and editorial propositions, identifying the appropriate forms of interactive content and delivering the subsequent user experience to the client's requirements. The Producer is responsible for the creative quality of the project.

Externally the Producer is:

  • Responsible for devising and delivering the user experience to the client's requirements

Internally the Producer:

  • Reports to an Executive Producer
  • Leads the Content team and works with the Lead Designer to devise the user experience
  • Is responsible for developing the editorial and content sections of the specification.
  • Assists the Project Manager in developing the Project Plan
  • Is responsible for editorial, creative and quality control of those deliverables specified in the project plan.
  • Is responsible for User Testing within the project (including prototypes) and ensuring that the results of testing are disseminated to appropriate team members.
  • Works with appropriate Illumina consultants and specialists to ensure that the project meets appropriate standards.
  • Attends Project Team Meetings

Required Skills and Experience


Essential

  • Proven experience of producing excellent New Media projects
  • Track record of leading a creative team.
  • Understanding of the component disciplines of interactive media: interaction design, project management, software development
  • Ability to communicate and work with designers and developers and to manage editorial and production staff
  • Able to work with a minimum of supervision using sound judgment
  • Excellent client handling skills
  • Experience and understanding of the Education, Entertainment or Cultural Sectors
  • Excellent creative, writing and thinking skills
  • Experience in creating and managing business processes and budgets
  • Good research skills

Where Possible

  • Experience in creating multimedia resources for the learners and teachers in the 14-19 and FE sector would be an advantage.
  • Experience of the creation of user scenarios and the application of user centred design processes.
  • Experience of projects with demanding accessibility requirements
  • Experience delivering broadband online projects
  • Experience working with video
  • Experience in delivering cross media projects (print, DVD, Online, mobile)
  • Good IT skills
