
Andrew is responsible internally for the strategic direction of the company and externally for the presentation of the company to key clients and partners and in industry and stakeholder forums. Andrew also takes a role in the creative development of key Illumina projects and is MD of TouchIllumina Ltd, the multiplatform joint venture company with Touch Productions. Andrew is a Board member of TRC Media in Glasgow (formerly The Research Centre) and Skillset, and is currently Vice Chair (Interactive) of PACT.
Mike manages the editorial department at Illumina Digital through a team of Executive Producers. He also leads the editorial and content development team creating multiplatform concepts for factual, learning and entertainment. One of the pioneers of multiplatform production in the UK, Mike has been responsible for award winning projects such Breaking the News with Channel 4, ITN and the BFI, Teachers TV Online with Education Digital and Endemol and the BBC Open Earth Archive. Mike is also developing Illumina's consultancy in creative development for multiplatform media working with NFTS in the UK and Shanghai TV and Hunan Golden Eagle Broadcasting in China. Mike is a member of the Royal Television Society Education Awards Committee and a visiting lecturer on TV and new media at Goldsmiths College University of London, Middlesex University and the University of Nottingham Trent.
Davie leads Illumina Digital's interaction design and software development studio, devising and managing the successful user-centred design process behind Illumina's many award winning e-content projects. It is Davie's responsibility to ensure that Illumina has the right mix of technical and design skills to deliver projects across the whole range of digital platforms. He was nominated for a TV Craft BAFTA in 2007 as Best New Media Developer. Davie is a regular guest lecturer at Middlesex University and has validated their Film Production and Technical Arts degree, he has also guest lectured at Goldsmiths College, the RCA and Birkbeck College, University of London.
Vanessa is responsible for operations and project management within Illumina Digital, refining and maintaining Illumina's robust project management methodology across all projects. Vanessa is also product manager for Illumina's e-Seq online video editing application suite, overseeing both the software development strategy and the licensing of e-Seq to clients including BFI, The National Archives, BBC, CBBC, Channel 4 and clients in the video archive sector. Vanessa also leads Illumina's relationships with a series of independent production companies devising multiplatform strategies and co-productions.
Gavin has overall responsibility for financial planning, risk management and budgeting for Illumina Digital. Gavin joined the company in 2006 from Culture Online where he was finance director for 4 years with responsibility for the financial management of a range of commissioned DCMS projects. He became finance director of Illumina in April 2007. Gavin also acts as a finance consultant for a number of school academies, charities and SMEs, providing strategic financial planning, risk management and operational support.
